Go! Garden will be open for registration next week! Here’s what you need to know:

Technical Assistance (We already have the best University of Maryland Extension office in the state!)

Why this program?

Addressing food insecurity as a social determinant of health is a complex task that requires multiple strategies. This is one strategy, in addition to the vouchers, meal boxes, and future food bank (360 Access Hub), designed to create sustainable community gardening capacity across Garrett County. Our hope is that neighbors will utilize this program and share harvests with neighbors, family, and friends in areas that are food deserts or lack access to food. This program is designed as a supplement to additional efforts, with a focus on low-cost, sustainable efforts to support food security in Garrett County.

How do I participate?

Ordering will be available next week.
Orders must be placed online similar to food distributions (first-come, first-served).
- Designed intentionally to be ALICE-inclusive [Asset-Limited, Income Constrained, Employed] from community feedback.
Pick-up will be at the Garrett County Rec Fair on Saturday, June 21st at Deep Creek Lake State Park, and requires a valid order confirmation number and name. Must be a resident of Maryland. No other verification is required.

Accommodations and translations are available.

*Orders not picked up between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on June 21, 2025, will be forfeited. This will not exclude you from future distributions.
